Not Going To Drink Like The Night Before

The Morning After
One way to prevent the severity of a hangover is to drink a lot of water while you’re drinking. If you don’t drink water throughout the night, This will help counter-balance alcohol’s dehydrating effects. Though most of us aren’t that responsible – we’d rather take reactive measures in the morning than preventative measures the night before.
Here are things you can do the morning after:

Sleep it off
Time is the only real cure for a hangover. Rest is your best friend at this point to give your body a recover. It is best to stay in bed so call in to work if you have to, tell them you have the stomach flu. You will sound so horrible on the phone they may believe you (unless they saw you at the bar, not a good idea then).

Kill the Pain
Painkillers like aspirin can help with the headache. But don’t take acetaminophen (i.e., Tylenol)! It can interact with alcohol and damage your liver.

Pass on the Coffee
Technically, coffee doesn’t help either. It will dehydrate you. A weak cup of coffee may be okay but a lot of caffeine will continue to dehydrate you, the opposite of what you want right now. It might help with drowsiness, but it will have no effect whatsoever on how intoxicated you are or how rapidly the alcohol is absorbed or eliminated from the body.

Keep Hydrating
Replenish your body with fruit juice and water. Sports drinks like Gatorade or Powerade might help.

Have Another Cocktail!
Try a Bloody Mary. Since your blood will start dealing with the new alcohol you are absorbing it will also ignore the old absorption – which for you means relief of hangover symptoms. In the meantime, tomato juice and celery are full of vitamins. If you don’t like Bloody Mary’s, have a beer, or a sip of any other alcohol. But don’t overdo it again!

Alka Seltzer to the Rescue
While there’s no evidence that Alka Seltzer works on hangovers, some guys consider it a “cure.”

Take a Shower
You sweat out alcohol impurities through your pores. Showering will rinse them off. Alternate between hot and cold water (if you can take it) to open and close your pores and get rid of max impurities.

Let’s Get Physical
The exercise hangover cure work on the same sweating theory. Gets rid of impurities. It will take some willpower to work out when even standing up seems like a challenge, but it is a good theory. And I’m sure you can think of some ways to get physical staying horizontal and without getting up.

Take Your Vitamins
Drink OJ to get some Vitamin C and try multi B vitamin. While there’s little evidence, some people are positive that it will help.
Tall tales, elixirs, and concoctions (often involving blenders) are abound guaranteeing to cure your hangover. While as you probably found most of them don’t work, try some of these real, scientifically proven* ways to cure your hangover. Find a solution that works for you and stick with it.
*No Guarantees.
